Naked Hiking Day (also known as Hike Naked Day) is an annual event that takes place on the summer solstice, June 21st which is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The unofficial holiday encourages people to get out and enjoy nature without any clothes on. While there are no official events or organized hikes associated with Naked Hiking Day, there are a number of places where people can go to hike naked. Some popular spots include national parks, state parks, and wilderness areas.
Reasons to Hike Naked
There are many reasons why people might choose to go naked hiking. Some people enjoy the feeling of being free and unencumbered by clothing. Others find that it helps them to connect with nature in a more profound way. Still others simply find it to be a more comfortable way to hike. Here are 3 good reasons to hike naked:
Freedom: Naked hiking can be a very freeing experience. When you're not wearing any clothes, you're not restricted by anything. You can move more freely and easily, and you can feel the sun and the wind on your skin.
Connection with nature: Some people believe that being naked in nature can help them to connect with nature in a more profound way. When you're not wearing any clothes, you're more aware of your surroundings. You can feel the ground beneath your feet, the air around you, and the sun on your skin. This can help you to feel more at peace with nature. Naked hiking allows you to not just be in nature but become part of nature.
Comfort: Some people find that it's more comfortable to hike naked than it is to wear clothes. When you're not wearing clothes, you don't have to worry about sweating or chafing. You can also move more freely and easily, which can be helpful if you're hiking in a challenging area.
Hiking naked Is liberating
Hiking naked can be a fun and liberating experience. If you're looking for a way to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors. If you want to have an enjoyable experience here are a few more things worth considering:
Choose a safe location: Make sure you're hiking in an area where you're unlikely to encounter other people. If you aren't sure it’s legal in your location, choose a secluded trail.
Wear sunscreen: Sunscreen is important for protecting your skin, even when you're not wearing clothes. Bring a hat and sunglasses.
Bring essentials a towel to sit on and a first-aid kit, just in case.
Be aware of your surroundings. If you're hiking in a popular area, there's a chance that you'll encounter other people. Be prepared to put on clothes if you encounter other people. If you're not comfortable being seen naked, it's best to find a secluded spot.
Take safety precautions, be aware of the weather. Tell someone where you're going. Let someone know where you're going and when you expect to be back.
Be respectful of other hikers. Even if you're comfortable being naked, not everyone is.
If you're thinking about participating in Naked Hiking Day, make sure that it's legal to be naked in the area where you plan to hike. In some places, public nudity is illegal, even in remote areas. Be respectful of other hikers. If you see someone who is uncomfortable, it's best to put your clothes back on. Read our naked hiking 101 guide Finally, have fun! Naturism is a way of life that celebrates the human body and its natural state. Naturists believe that being naked is a healthy and liberating way to live, and that it can help to promote a sense of community and acceptance. Naturists often participate in activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and hiking without clothing.
Introducing naturism
If you are wondering how to introduce naturism to a beginner, there are a few things you can do to help them get started. First, talk to them about what naturism is and why you think it would be a good fit for them. Explain that naturism is not about sex or exhibitionism, but rather about a healthy and natural way of living. Once you have explained naturism to the beginner, you can help them find a naturist resort or club to visit. There are naturist resorts and clubs all over the world, so you should be able to find one that is close to you. When you are choosing a naturist resort or club, be sure to check out the reviews to make sure that it is a good fit for the beginner.
Once the beginner has found a naturist resort or club to visit, they can start by attending events that are geared towards beginners. Many naturist resorts and clubs offer introductory classes and workshops on naturist etiquette and lifestyle. These classes and workshops can help the beginner feel more comfortable and confident in their new lifestyle. Share resources available online and in libraries. You can also find naturist clubs and resorts in your area by searching online.
Step by step introduction to naturism
Talk to them about naturism and what it means to you. Explain why you are interested in naturism and what you hope to gain from it. Be sure to answer any questions they may have.
Find a naturist club or resort near you. This is a great way for beginners to learn more about naturism and to meet other naturists.
Start by going to a naturist event or gathering. This is a less intimidating way to experience naturism than going to a naturist resort or club.
Be respectful of the beginner's comfort level. If they are not ready to be naked, that is perfectly fine. Let them know that they can wear a swimsuit or cover-up if they prefer.
Have fun! Naturism is a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Be sure to have fun and make the most of your experience.
Supporting a beginner to naturism
When introducing naturism to a beginner, it is important to remember that everyone is different. Some people will take more time to embrace naturism than others. Be patient with the newbie nudie and let them take things at their own pace. With time and patience, they will come to love naturism as much as you do. Here are some additional things to consider when introducing naturism to a beginner:
Choose a time and place that is comfortable for the beginner. If they are not used to being naked in public, it may be helpful to start by going to a naturist beach or resort that is less crowded.
Be patient. It may take some time for the beginner to get used to being naked around others. Be patient and understanding, and let them take things at their own pace.
Encourage them to talk about their feelings. It is important for the beginner to be able to express their feelings about naturism, both positive and negative. Encourage them to talk about what they are experiencing, both good and bad.
Be supportive. Naturism can be a great way to improve one's self-confidence and body image. Be supportive of the beginner and help them to feel comfortable in their own skin.
Naturism is great ways of life
Naturism can be a great way to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and learn more about yourself. If you are interested in introducing naturism to a beginner, follow these tips and be patient and understanding. With time and effort, you can help them experience the many benefits of naturism.
This quick read by Catherine Roberts is a whimsical, funny and still instructive guide to clothes free living and recreation. Roberts chronicles the many activities (101 by her count) that can be done clothes free. Along the way she also mentions some that she believes should not be done clothes free, for example frying bacon. On the way we are treated to a year long often whimsical journey of Roberts and her partner through everyday activities that can be enjoyed clothes free.
Sprinkled with anecdotes of their experience and the narrative list of items are a few nuggets of clothes free information. For example the fact that President John Quincy Adams skinny dipped in the Potomac River every morning. Each chapter starts with inspirational clothes free quotes from he likes of Pope John Paul the second I am a naturist at heart and Michelangelo. Also peppered throughout year long journey are pithy statements from the author like
"Life is good ... Naked life is great.
One aspect of the book I particularly appreciate is the author not taking herself too seriously. Sometimes clothes free folks (myself included) can get caught up about the subtleties and intricacies of the naturist way of life. The book is a refreshing light hearted break from any of that. 101 things to do naked is a fun easy read that I highly recommend. It would make a great gift for someone exploring or new to the clohes free life.

3 things I learned using artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism. Artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism are a tool for naturist publishing particularly online. Artificial intelligence has burst on to the technology scene and by all accounts will significantly impact our daily lives moving forward. Some naturists have begun to explore some of of the implications both benefits and challenges for naturism in general and naturism online specifically. Doug Hickok has a good piece titled Rise of the Machines in the December 2022 issue of the Naturist Education Foundation Newsletter. This is where I first heard about using artificial intelligence to promote naturism.I want to share with you 3 things I learned using artificial intelligence to generate images to promote naturism.
AI image generation is in its infancy
There are many things AI can do now, but I believe it is still only in its infancy. AI image generation machines are still learning. I learned when entering a prompt to generate an image it may take several rounds for the image generator to figure out what I am looking for. Basically I am training to understand how to get the best result to my prompt. When I get an image that is close telling the AI image generator that I want to see more like that gives it a better idea of what kind of image I want.
The other thing that AI image generators seem to be learning is the nuances of the human body especially the extremities. Faces and feet don’t look normal. Faces, I understand. Maybe they are trying to avoid being too realistic. But feet and hands are definitely challenging. The fingers and toes often appear mangled and distorted or cut off altogether. At times it seems some body parts are intentionally distorted. See the range of examples below.
AI image generation has a nudity bias
As one writer suggested AI image generators have a nudity bias. Simply put they do not handle requests for images with nudity, even it it’s a non sexual activity like walking swimming or running. In fact, if you write a prompt for the average AI image generator using the words nude or naked you are likely to get no generated images returned.
Anytime I’ve tried something similar it always gets rejected as nude, naked or even unclothed gets flagged as inappropriate. - Instagram follower
It’s also just as likely you would get crooked person or an image distorted so as not to look like a human body. I am sure there are valid reasons for this, like AI being used to generate pornography, but it makes things more complicated to get decent naturist images.
Another bias specific to nudism and naturism is an age bias. Images generated with prompts using these words overwhelmingly picture older people. This is true even if the prompts explicitly calls for young or young adult naturists. This may well be accurate based on how the engines have be taught but it still reflects an annoying bias.
AI image generating engines are different
One important thing to be aware of is all the AI image generation implementations are different. They are all based on popular algorithm engines like Chat GPT Midjourney and DALL-E (Stable Diffusion). However, each may have a different front end implementation and specific quirks based on its learning model. There may also be restrictions and limitations on the acceptable words in prompts as previously shared.
One thing the all have in common is the process. It is test to image. Basically it works like this type a descriptive set of words, (more descriptive the better) of the image you want to generate. Choose a style and put the generator to work. The number and variety of styles differs from generator to generator. The number of resulting images and accessibility also varies.
It is too soon to pick a favorite from among all the different AI image generators, but one of the least restrictive for naturist purposes is Neural Love AI Art Generator It was the first I tried and used for this article. Neural Love is based on the Stable Diffusion algorithm and is technically free. It can generated to twenty images based on a wide variety of styles in three different sizes in one pass. However, any resulting images considered NSFW (not safe for work) read containing nudity is hidden behind a privacy wall. To access those results a privacy checkbox must be checked and the prompts rerun. Using the privacy feature requires credits that must be purchased. Smart business model, but may be limiting feature for naturist use.
Conclusion
Not everyone likes the idea of using artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism. Traditional medium artists may be particularly concerned. Truth is this is not going away and while there are real concerns, AI generated imagery for promoting naturism is a solid potential. Publications often struggle to find illustrative naturist images of real people that are affordable to license. Using images of individuals without permission is unacceptable. So, I will go one step further and say the potential is great. If, and it’s a big if, the AI engines lose their nudity bias. Otherwise the only unacceptable option (for us anyway) is using the merging AI porn image generators.

June 1 is National Barefoot Day. Naturism and barefooting are two wholistic life choices that involve being in a natural state. Naturism is the practice of non sexual social nudity, while barefooting is the practice of going without shoes. Both naturists and barefooters often cite health, environmental, and ethical reasons for their choices. Naturism and barefooting practitioners both report experiencing a deep sense of grounding. Both practices have a number of benefits, both physical and psychological. There are some naturists who are also active bare footers.
Health Benefits
A number of health benefits associated with naturism and barefooting. Naturists often report feeling more relaxed and at peace when they are nude. This is likely due to the fact that nudity can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Barefooting has also been shown to have a number of health benefits, including improved circulation, stronger leg bones and muscles, and feet.
Environmental Benefits and ethical reasons
Some naturists and barefooters choose the practices for environmental and ethical reasons. Naturists argue that clothing production is a major contributor to pollution. By going clothes free, naturists are reducing their environmental impact. Barefooters argue that the manufacture of footwear also contributes to pollution. By going barefoot, they are connecting with the Earth in a more natural way.
Many naturists and barefooters choose the practice for ethical reasons. Naturists believe that the human body is a natural thing and that they are most natural when naked. Barefooters believe that shoes are unnatural and constrain the feet. By going barefoot, they believe are living a more natural life.
Where and when to Practice Naturism and Barefooting
There are a number of places where naturists and barefooters can pursue their practice. There are naturist resorts and clubs all over the world, and there are also many beaches and parks that are designated as naturist or barefoot areas. If you are interested in trying naturism or barefooting, there are a number of resources available to help you get started. There are websites, books, and magazines that can provide information about naturism and barefooting, and there are also a number of naturist and barefooting organizations that can offer support and advice.
Safety Tips
If you are considering trying naturism or barefooting, there are a few safety tips that you should keep in mind. First, it is important to choose a safe place to go barefoot or barefoot all over. Naturist resorts and clubs are usually safe places to be nude, but it is important to be aware of the rules and regulations of the resort or club.
If you are just beginning your bare footing journey start slow. Barefooting can also be dangerous, so it is important to be aware of the terrain and to avoid walking on sharp objects. It is important to be aware of your surroundings. When you are nude or barefoot you are more vulnerable to the element. It is important to be aware of the weather conditions and to dress appropriately. Finally, it is important to be respectful of others. When you are nude or barefoot, you are more visible to others, so it is important to be respectful of their privacy.
Drawbacks of naturism and barefooting
Both naturism and barefooting can have some drawbacks. For example, naturists may be exposed to unwanted attention from others. Barefooters may be exposed to sharp objects or unhygienic surfaces. Some businesses and establishments may have rules of service that require foot wear and almost all require clothing. These risks can be minimized by taking precautions, such as going to beaches of other spaces that are specifically designated for naturists or legally allowed, and being cautious or wearing minimalist footwear when bare footing in areas that may be hazardous.
Final thoughts
Both naturism and barefooting can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. If you are interested in trying either of these lifestyle choices, there are a number of resources available to help you get started. There are naturist resorts and clubs all over the world, and there are also a number of barefooting websites and forums where you can find information and support.
It is important to note that naturism and barefooting are not for everyone. Some people may feel uncomfortable or self-conscious being naked or barefoot in public, and that is perfectly okay. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy nature, and the most important thing is to find what works best for you.
Overall, naturism and barefooting are two lifestyle choices that can offer a number of benefits. If you are considering trying either of these practices, it is important to weigh the pros and cons carefully and to make a decision that is right for you.

Bearded naked yogi is a clothes free yogi,we think you should know! Anyone who is in the online naked yoga space will have run across Beard naked yogi. He regularly posts about his international naked yoga retreats. What we observed is an excellent expression of naked yoga in the tradition of Hatha Yoga. This is what makes Bearded naked yogi a clothes free yogi we think you should know. What follows is our conversation with Bearded naked yogi we hope you enjoy learning about him and his yoga practice as much we did.
CFL- How long have you been practicing yoga?
BNY - I have been practicing yoga and meditation for over 10 years and teaching for 6 years.
CFL- How did you get started with yoga?
BNY - Yoga had always been something on my radar - I took my first class in 2013 and was immediately inspired by the practice and the change I could immediately feel in my body and mind. It sounds like a cliche, but it was a deeply moving and life-changing experience and I knew immediately it was the right thing for me to pursue as a practice.
>CFL- Are you a certified yoga instructor? Do you teach a particular style?
BNY - Yes, I am a certified instructor of both yoga and meditation. I am certified in teaching traditional Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. I am also certified to teach Atma Kriya meditation, the ancient yogic technique of 'meditation upon the Self'.
CFL- What kind of yoga do you teach?
BNY - All of my classes are rooted in the historical tradition of yoga and are accessible to everyone, regardless of if they are a complete beginner or have been practicing yoga for years. My classes are taught with lots of clear instruction and demonstration of the poses, with an awareness of each person's capability and ability within the class - there is room for everyone!
CFL- Where are your classes available?
BNY - I travel all over Europe teaching events and retreats, so my regular weekly teaching schedule is available exclusively online and taught via Zoom.
I also teach different courses online, such as The Beginners Course in Meditation and Mindfulness, a practice which is very dear to my heart, and I am looking forward to delivering my first meditation retreat later in 2023.
CFL- Tell our readers about your personal approach your individual yoga practice? How often to you go on the mat for yourself? Do you have a favorite yoga pose?
BNY - My personal approach to yoga is one that sees yoga as a path of liberation for ourselves. This liberation comes through a practice of self-inquiry and self-understanding that is achieved through the practice of movement, discipline, correct breathing techniques and various practices of meditation that bring a great sense of peace and calm into my existence and how I perceive myself and the world around me of which I am part.
I go onto my mat every day, whether it is for physical practice (asana postures), or for meditation or breathing exercises.
I would say that Triangle Pose (utthita trikonasana) is my favourite physical pose - it is just such a wonderful experience for the body.
Bearded naked yogi
CFL- Share some information about the yoga retreats you lead? Who are they for? Where are they held? What do they cost?
BNY - I teach many different retreats throughout the year in many different locations - Mallorca (where I live), Andalucia, the Canary Islands, the United Kingdom, Greece and Turkey. At the moment, my naked retreats are for men and those who identify as men, bringing together diverse groups from across the world. In 2023, I begin teaching mixed naked retreats for all genders on Fuerteventura in partnership with BHH Naturist Resort as well as mixed online classes and this is something I am very excited about for the future.
My retreats start from €795 per person and prices very much depend on location. All of my retreats take place in spectacular locations which are personally approved, are fully inclusive with expert naked chefs and provide a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and enjoy a truly relaxing experience away from our everyday lives.
Guests can also enjoy massages and treatments by different qualified therapists as well as experience the extraordinary power of sound healing, which uses crystal and Tibetan singing bowls to create an aural sound bath for the body and mind.
CFL- Is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers?
BNY - If yoga is something that interests your readers, then I would say simply "just begin" - some people resonate with the practice and love it; some people don't - but we never know until we try.
It is a fantastic and proven method of physical movement and mindfulness that reduces stress, increases a sense of wellbeing and can really help us connect with our bodies in a deep and meaningful way - with a little time and a little practice, you'll discover the magic of yoga and your life will change for the better.
Your readers can keep up to date by joining my website and receiving period newsletters about events, classes, retreats and my musings upon yogic philosophy - it would be great to have them onboard! Clothing-optional public spaces seem to be declining in popularity, especially among young people, whose relationship with nudity has been shaped by a lifetime online.
To Lily Simpson, a 30-year-old from London who moved to Copenhagen about two years ago, the Danes have a refreshingly relaxed attitude toward nudity. People don’t generally bother hiding under a towel while changing into their swimwear. And there are no laws prohibiting public nudity in Denmark, so it’s normal to see topless women sunbathing along the harbor that runs through the city or people skinny-dipping at the beach. But to Claus Jacobsen, a 36-year-old who grew up in a suburb of Copenhagen, the Danes’ comfort with nudity is a far cry from what it used to be. He remembers that, when he went to the beach with his family as a child, pretty much all women, including his mother and aunt, would be topless, which is not close to the case today. Topless or nude sunbathing still doesn’t raise many eyebrows, and he suspects that most Danes would oppose an attempt to outlaw their right to it. They just seem to be exercising that right less often these days. Torben Larson, the chairman of the Danish Naturists association (naturist is another term for nudist) told me that he was less convinced that the rate of nude bathing is universally declining—he senses that it is increasing among older Danes—but agreed that younger generations seem much less interested in nude bathing, and in other nude activities, for that matter.

I asked BARD the Google AI about naturism. The internet is a buzz with talk about AI. ChatGPT the open source AI learning machine created quite the stir when it was released to public recently. There are all kinds of reports about how this will change the way we live. Many people from teachers and professors to coders opined about how it might change their lives and as I result society. Microsoft and other tech companies moved quickly to about the new technology. Microsoft Integrated AI into its Bing search engine. Many others looked for ways to harness the new technology's power from creating imagery and writing blog posts.
AI and nude images
Some forward thinking naturists started exploring how the new AI engines might impact naturism online. The Naturist Education Foundation newsletter Doug Hickok Rise of the Machines explored using AI image generators that could be used to generate nude images for naturist use. These algorithms are already being used to create such images. In addition to the benefits for creators there are real dangers from this technology.
AI generated image shared on African culture twitter feed
I recently wrote about some of those dangers as it relates to the naturist community online. It could be used to create an online space where you may never know if the photos shown are of real people. The technology still has telltale signs as visible in the photo below but that may change. It remains to be seen if we will be able to comprehend future advances in AI
Images below generated by neural love image generator with prompts naturist woman and nudist Hermione Granger
Other naturist writers examined how Chat GPT or other AI might understand naturism and nudism. Robert G. Longpré An Experiment With ChatGPT explored the AI's ability to right a story. On the Nude and Happy site another naturist tested the AI ability to write an essay about naturism AI on nudism and naturism! Several others also did similar inquiries.
I asked BARD the Google AI about naturism.
Since this often controversial new technology conversation has been ongoing I have been following and thinking about this subject. This week Google released its "experimental" BARD AI and sent us a notice. I signed up to be on the waiting list for access. So, I asked BARD the Google AI about naturism and it said this.
Prompt how to explain naturism
Naturism is the practice of living without clothes. It is based on the belief that people should be comfortable in their own skin and that there is nothing wrong with being naked. Naturists often enjoy spending time outdoors, swimming, sunbathing, and playing sports. They also often participate in social activities such as clubs, camping, and hiking.
There are many benefits to naturism. Naturists often report feeling more comfortable in their own skin and having a greater sense of self-acceptance. They also often report feeling more connected to nature and experiencing a greater sense of well-being. Naturism can also be a fun and social activity.
If you are interested in trying naturism, there are many resources available to help you get started. There are naturist clubs and resorts all over the world, and there are also many websites and online forums where you can learn more about naturism and connect with other naturists.
Here are some tips for explaining naturism to others:
* Start by explaining what naturism is.
* Explain the benefits of naturism.
* Explain how naturism is different from nudity.
* Explain how naturism is not sexual.
* Explain how naturism is a lifestyle choice.
* Explain how naturism is not a cult or a religion.
* Be prepared for questions and concerns.
* Be patient and understanding.
* Be willing to listen to others.
* Be willing to share your own experiences.
