He remembers that, when he went to the beach with his family as a child, pretty much all women, including his mother and aunt, would be topless, which is not close to the case today. Topless or nude sunbathing still doesn’t raise many eyebrows, and he suspects that most Danes would oppose an attempt to outlaw their right to it. They just seem to be exercising that right less often these days. There are all kinds of reports about how this will change the way we live. Many people from teachers and professors to coders opined about how it might change their lives and as I result society. Microsoft and other tech companies moved quickly to about the new technology. Microsoft Integrated AI into its Bing search engine. Many others looked for ways to harness the new technology's power from creating imagery and writing blog posts.

How I discovered van life and found freedom - guest post Bird
The short story is that I lost my home and my bird rescue when COVID hit, so I built my minivan to live in. I was rear ended and totalled my first trip out. With the payout I bought the skoolie then built it out myself.
It was one of the hardest times of my life. I felt like I had lost everything. I was living with my daughter and grandkids and they moved in to their own place. I lost my bird rescue, my home, my daughter, and my grandkids. I thought it was the end of life. Then I found out about van life so I built the minivan and started working on myself, my anger, my trauma, my constant state of being a victim.
The self work and the build taught me so much about myself. I had never done anything alone! Since being on the road I've had so many self discoveries. Just being alone in nature teaches you everything you need to know. The stillness, the quiet, the beauty all around you. The storms come to remind you that you could never truly enjoy the calm without having gone through the storms.
I've been set free. I'm free from bills, I'm free from what society thinks I should do. I'm free to find myself without the influence of others. It's incredible, what I thought was terrible loss ended up being the very thing that set me free.
I now get to take my grandkids on the road with me for two months out of the year. We homeschool and travel. The only thing I was missing was time for myself. Time to allow myself to heal and be who I want to be.
As far as naturism goes, it's pretty new to me. I was headed home after spending 5 months work camping in Oregon. I planned to stop at every hot spring on the way home to pick up the grandkids for our visit. I had never visited hot springs outside of my own town before. I had done a lot of work on myself as far as feeling uncomfortable in my own skin and worked on past sexual trauma.
Prior to this I tried naturism. I did the world naked bike ride with friends. We had kayaked nude by moonlight, and hiked nude, but it always felt weird, The naked bike ride, the hiking and kayaking, it never felt right. I wasn't ready. I never had time to do the self work. I needed to do to be comfortable and to disassociate sex from being nude. Van life gave me that alone time to do the self work. It's the self discovery that van life has brought that has changed me. I think it's the lack of outside influence. Even though I do meet up with other van lifer's often, they are so open minded and they don't seem to judge. That's another reason I'm attracted to van life. The community is exactly the tribe I've needed.

The new voices of naturist commentators
The new voices of naturist commentators. Five years ago I alerted our readers to the emerging naked content creator class. These are online content creators also called social influencers who sell access to their naturist life for a price. I call it pay per view nudity not because their is anything bad about nudity or photos of the naked body. But rather because of my conviction that as a means of promoting naturism this approach was fraught with issues. In my opinion, it made the association of naturism and nudism with the porn industry more likely. In the eyes of the uninitiated and uninformed, it seems an easy connection. Furthermore it was and is my contention that there isn’t enough money to go around in the online nudity community, to sustain all the potential content creators. This proved to be prescient as an internet search for the word nudism is more likely to return a host of porn links and few actual nudist links. It is necessary for a searcher to dig through a lot of porn to possibly find any actual examples of non sexual nudity and naturism. We at clothes free life stuck to our focus and mission and continued to call out the drift towards nakedness and bare skin photos as the best way to promote the naturist way of life. I think we made the write decision.
Now the new voices of naturist commentators have emerged. Maybe it is a natural counter balancing force at work in the universe. Maybe it is just the emergence of new technology. A new crop of naturist writers and commentators have taken to the online stage. Some of them are naturist bloggers, who are using new media technology platforms to community with a broader audience. Others, find these new platforms more conducive for sharing their perspective and opinions than blogging or social media. Still others, are social media refugees who are eschewing generalized microblogging social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Reddit for example) for more long form tools (Medium, Subtack) to reach a more targeted audience. There are differences and similarities between this new class on online naturist creator and the aforementioned naturist social influencer. One difference is the focus is less about photos and videos and more on words and commentary. That not to say there NO photos just they aren’t the focus. One similarity is both have a monetization option. It is however, more subtle among the naturist commentator group.
Jillian Page, a Canadian journalist and naturist started trend with her Substack newsletter The Naturist Community. In the last few months several new newsletter have also been initiated. The content from these writers is varied and broad. New Zealander Bob Badger shares his take on naturism at A Comfort of Naturists. Naturist fiction author Robert Longpre shares updates from his current writing through Naturist Fiction by SkyCladTherapy Naturist historian Evan Nix naturist stories and reviews with a historic bent on Planet Nude. The historical retrospective video maker Nudistory shares stories related to their retrospectives. All on use the Substack platform.
The medium platform has also seen a resurgence among for this kind of longer form commentary and opinion based writing. Some long naturist bloggers post there, as well as new voices in nudism and naturism. My favorites include established bloggers like Dan Carlson | Meandering Naturist and photographer James Griggs as well as new discoveries Kate R and Robert Payne. Clothes free life has added our own Substack and restarted our Medium posts to share some of of writing over the past 12 years. Where do things go from here? Is the day of the naked content creator past? Are these new voices of naturist commentators engaging? Will the world of ideas and discourse be sustainable in the world of photos and visual bytes? These are all unknowns and I suspect too early to tell. I for one do appreciate the thoughtful interesting subjects and diversity of topics being generated by these writers. It takes naturism online beyond just pics. Though not everyone is appreciative of this. Recently I saw a reference to this trend as something like "keyboard jockeys" the exact phrase escapes me. Inferring that the believers of naked photo as naturist promotion feel they still hold sway.

Nude reads March 2023 book releases
Nude reads March 2023 book releases has several new books we wanted. To tell you about. They are varied and different. Non fiction, fiction and theological.
British economist Virginia Bateman's new book Naked Feminism. Bateman uses nakedness as a metaphor for social ills. Bateman came to public awareness through her nude talks about the negative consequences of Brexit. In Naked Feminism, Bateman makes a compelling case for women’s bodily freedom, and explains why the current puritanical revival is so dangerous for women. Initially Amazon refused to advertise the book on the grounds the cover was sexually suggestive. After an appeal that decision was reversed. The Naked Feminism web site has news, video chapter summaries and more for the reader.
Clergy and naturist Reverend Bob Horrocks has published his second book Uncovering the Image. A Question of Image was released. We were not aware a second book from Horrocks was forth coming. It is the result of a 2014 sabbatical.The subject and perspective is welcome. Horrocks explores the concept of embodiment () with a theological lens. The book is currently available in paperback. Adventures Without Clothes the fourth anthology in a series created by an evolving group of people to raise funds for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) joins the two previously mentioned releases. The effort is led by author Ted Bun and the folks at Naturist Fiction. The collaborative effort (20 people this time) draws on the story telling efforts of a variety authors and supports a good cause. Get your preorder now.
