3 things I learned using artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism

3 things I learned using artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism. Artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism are a tool for naturist publishing particularly online. Artificial intelligence has burst on to the technology  scene and by all accounts will significantly impact our daily lives moving forward. Some naturists have begun to explore some of of the implications both benefits and challenges for naturism in general and naturism online specifically. Doug Hickok has a good piece titled Rise of the Machines in the December 2022 issue of the Naturist Education Foundation Newsletter. This is where I first heard about using artificial intelligence to promote naturism.I want to share with you 3 things I learned using artificial intelligence to generate images to promote naturism.

AI image generation is in its infancy

There are many things AI can do now, but I believe it is still only in its infancy. AI image generation machines are still learning. I learned when entering a prompt to generate an image it may take several rounds for the image generator to figure out what I am looking for. Basically I am training to understand how to get the best result to my prompt. When I get an image that is close telling the AI image generator that I want to see more like that gives it a better idea of what kind of image I want. The other thing that AI image generators seem to be learning is the nuances of the human body especially the extremities. Faces and  feet don’t look normal. Faces, I understand. Maybe they are trying to avoid being too realistic. But feet and hands are definitely challenging. The fingers and toes often appear mangled and distorted or cut off altogether. At times it seems some body parts are intentionally distorted. See the range of examples below.

AI image generation has a nudity bias

As one writer suggested AI image generators have a nudity bias. Simply put they do not handle requests for images with nudity, even it it’s a non sexual activity like walking swimming or running. In fact, if you write a prompt for the average AI image generator using the words nude or naked you are likely to get no generated images returned.
Anytime I’ve tried something similar it always gets rejected as nude, naked or even unclothed gets flagged as inappropriate. - Instagram follower
It’s also just as likely you would get crooked person or an image distorted so as not to look like a human body.  I am sure there are valid reasons for this, like AI being used to generate pornography, but it makes things more complicated to get decent naturist images.
AI prompt - A group naturists of different ages sitting on a ledge looking out over water
Another bias specific to nudism and naturism is an age bias. Images generated with prompts using these words overwhelmingly picture older people. This is true even if the prompts explicitly calls for young or young adult naturists. This may well be accurate based on how the engines have be taught but it still reflects an annoying bias.

AI image generating engines are  different

One important thing to be aware of is all the AI image generation implementations  are different. They are all based on popular algorithm engines like Chat GPT Midjourney and DALL-E (Stable Diffusion). However, each may have a different front end implementation and specific quirks based on its learning model. There may also be restrictions and limitations on the acceptable words in prompts as previously shared. One thing the all have in common is the process. It is test to image. Basically it works like this type a descriptive set of words, (more descriptive the better) of the image you want to generate. Choose a style and put the generator to work. The number and variety of styles differs from generator to generator. The number of resulting images and accessibility also varies.
Ai nude
Neural Love nude image of woman blurred behind privacy wall
It is too soon to pick a favorite from among all the different AI image generators, but one of the least restrictive for naturist purposes is Neural Love  AI Art Generator It was the first I tried and used for this article. Neural Love is based on the Stable Diffusion algorithm and is technically free. It can generated to twenty images based on a wide variety of styles in three different sizes in one pass. However, any resulting images considered NSFW (not safe for work) read containing nudity is hidden behind a privacy wall. To access those results a privacy checkbox must be checked and the prompts rerun. Using the privacy feature requires credits that must be purchased. Smart business model, but may be limiting feature for naturist use.

Conclusion

Not everyone likes the idea of using artificial intelligence generated images to promote naturism. Traditional medium artists may be particularly concerned. Truth is this is not going away and while there are real concerns, AI generated imagery for promoting naturism is a solid potential. Publications often struggle to find illustrative naturist images of real people that are affordable to license. Using images of individuals without permission is unacceptable. So, I will go one step further and say the potential is great. If, and it’s a big if, the AI engines lose their nudity bias. Otherwise the only unacceptable option (for us anyway) is using the merging AI porn image generators. What do you think? Naturism and barefooting - barefoot and barefoot all over

Why practice naturism and barefooting

June 1 is National Barefoot Day. Naturism and barefooting are two wholistic life choices that involve being in a natural state. Naturism is the practice of non sexual social nudity, while barefooting is the practice of going without shoes. Both naturists and barefooters often cite health, environmental, and ethical reasons for their choices. Naturism and barefooting practitioners both report experiencing a deep sense of grounding. Both practices have a number of benefits, both physical and psychological. There are some naturists who are also active bare footers.

Health Benefits

A number of health benefits associated with naturism and barefooting. Naturists often report feeling more relaxed and at peace when they are nude. This is likely due to the fact that nudity can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Barefooting has also been shown to have a number of health benefits, including improved circulation, stronger leg bones and muscles, and feet.

Environmental Benefits and ethical reasons

Some naturists and barefooters choose the practices for environmental and ethical reasons. Naturists argue that clothing production is a major contributor to pollution. By going clothes free, naturists are reducing their environmental impact. Barefooters argue that the manufacture of footwear also contributes to pollution. By going barefoot, they are connecting with the Earth in a more natural way.

Many naturists and barefooters choose the practice for ethical reasons. Naturists believe that the human body is a natural thing and that they are most natural when naked. Barefooters believe that shoes are unnatural and constrain the feet. By going barefoot, they believe are living a more natural life.

Where and when to Practice Naturism and Barefooting

There are a number of places where naturists and barefooters can pursue their practice. There are naturist resorts and clubs all over the world, and there are also many beaches and parks that are designated as naturist or barefoot areas. If you are interested in trying naturism or barefooting, there are a number of resources available to help you get started. There are websites, books, and magazines that can provide information about naturism and barefooting, and there are also a number of naturist and barefooting organizations that can offer support and advice.

Safety Tips

If you are considering trying naturism or barefooting, there are a few safety tips that you should keep in mind. First, it is important to choose a safe place to go barefoot or barefoot all over. Naturist resorts and clubs are usually safe places to be nude, but it is important to be aware of the rules and regulations of the resort or club.

If you are just beginning your bare footing journey start slow. Barefooting can also be dangerous, so it is important to be aware of the terrain and to avoid walking on sharp objects. It is important to be aware of your surroundings. When you are nude or barefoot you are more vulnerable to the element. It is important to be aware of the weather conditions and to dress appropriately. Finally, it is important to be respectful of others. When you are nude or barefoot, you are more visible to others, so it is important to be respectful of their privacy.

Drawbacks of naturism and barefooting

Both naturism and barefooting can have some drawbacks. For example, naturists may be exposed to unwanted attention from others. Barefooters may be exposed to sharp objects or unhygienic surfaces. Some businesses and establishments may have rules of service that require foot wear and almost all require clothing. These risks can be minimized by taking precautions, such as going to beaches of other spaces that are specifically designated for naturists or legally allowed, and being cautious or wearing minimalist footwear when bare footing in areas that may be hazardous.

Final thoughts

Both naturism and barefooting can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. If you are interested in trying either of these lifestyle choices, there are a number of resources available to help you get started. There are naturist resorts and clubs all over the world, and there are also a number of barefooting websites and forums where you can find information and support.

It is important to note that naturism and barefooting are not for everyone. Some people may feel uncomfortable or self-conscious being naked or barefoot in public, and that is perfectly okay. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy nature, and the most important thing is to find what works best for you.

Overall, naturism and barefooting are two lifestyle choices that can offer a number of benefits. If you are considering trying either of these practices, it is important to weigh the pros and cons carefully and to make a decision that is right for you.

Bearded naked yogi - clothes free yogi you should know

Bearded naked yogi is a clothes free yogi,we think you should know! Anyone who is in the online naked yoga space will have run across Beard naked yogi. He regularly posts about his international naked yoga retreats.  What we observed is an excellent expression of naked yoga in the tradition of Hatha Yoga. This is what makes Bearded naked yogi a clothes free yogi we think you should know. What follows is our conversation with Bearded naked yogi we hope you enjoy learning about him and his yoga practice as much we did.

CFL- How long have you been practicing yoga?

BNY - I have been practicing yoga and meditation for over 10 years and teaching for 6 years.

CFL- How did you get started with yoga?

BNY - Yoga had always been something on my radar - I took my first class in 2013 and was immediately inspired by the practice and the change I could immediately feel in my body and mind. It sounds like a cliche, but it was a deeply moving and life-changing experience and I knew immediately it was the right thing for me to pursue as a practice. >CFL- Are you a certified yoga instructor? Do you teach a particular style?

BNY - Yes, I am a certified instructor of both yoga and meditation. I am certified in teaching traditional Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. I am also certified to teach Atma Kriya meditation, the ancient yogic technique of 'meditation upon the Self'.

CFL- What kind of yoga do you teach?

BNY - All of my classes are rooted in the historical tradition of yoga and are accessible to everyone, regardless of if they are a complete beginner or have been practicing yoga for years. My classes are taught with lots of clear instruction and demonstration of the poses, with an awareness of each person's capability and ability within the class - there is room for everyone!

CFL- Where are your classes available?

BNY - I travel all over Europe teaching events and retreats, so my regular weekly teaching schedule is available exclusively online and taught via Zoom.

I also teach different courses online, such as The Beginners Course in Meditation and Mindfulness, a practice which is very dear to my heart, and I am looking forward to delivering my first meditation retreat later in 2023.

CFL- Tell our readers about your personal approach your individual yoga practice? How often to you go on the mat for yourself? Do you have a favorite yoga pose?

BNY - My personal approach to yoga is one that sees yoga as a path of liberation for ourselves. This liberation comes through a practice of self-inquiry and self-understanding that is achieved through the practice of movement, discipline, correct breathing techniques and various practices of meditation that bring a great sense of peace and calm into my existence and how I perceive myself and the world around me of which I am part.

I go onto my mat every day, whether it is for physical practice (asana postures), or for meditation or breathing exercises.

I would say that Triangle Pose (utthita trikonasana) is my favourite physical pose - it is just such a wonderful experience for the body.

CFL- Share some information about the yoga retreats you lead? Who are they for? Where are they held? What do they cost?

BNY - I teach many different retreats throughout the year in many different locations - Mallorca (where I live), Andalucia, the Canary Islands, the United Kingdom, Greece and Turkey. At the moment, my naked retreats are for men and those who identify as men, bringing together diverse groups from across the world. In 2023, I begin teaching mixed naked retreats for all genders on Fuerteventura in partnership with BHH Naturist Resort as well as mixed online classes and this is something I am very excited about for the future.

My retreats start from €795 per person and prices very much depend on location. All of my retreats take place in spectacular locations which are personally approved, are fully inclusive with expert naked chefs and provide a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and enjoy a truly relaxing experience away from our everyday lives.

Guests can also enjoy massages and treatments by different qualified therapists as well as experience the extraordinary power of sound healing, which uses crystal and Tibetan singing bowls to create an aural sound bath for the body and mind.

CFL- Is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers?

BNY - If yoga is something that interests your readers, then I would say simply "just begin" - some people resonate with the practice and love it; some people don't - but we never know until we try.

It is a fantastic and proven method of physical movement and mindfulness that reduces stress, increases a sense of wellbeing and can really help us connect with our bodies in a deep and meaningful way - with a little time and a little practice, you'll discover the magic of yoga and your life will change for the better.

Your readers can keep up to date by joining my website and receiving period newsletters about events, classes, retreats and my musings upon yogic philosophy - it would be great to have them onboard!
