T he University of Colorado’s student alumni association is hosting the eighth annual Nearly Naked Mile run and clothing drive on the Boulder campus Friday.
Event organizer and CU alumnae Dawn Barone said the group is expecting about 800 students to strip down to the “necessities” for the charity drive this year.
Participants are encouraged, but not required, to donate to the clothing drive, which will benefit A Precious Child — a non-profit focused on helping Colorado children living in poverty.
Students arrive in the clothes they plan to donate and then toss the donations in a bin before running a mile through the campus.
