Ecological Naturism

Ecological Naturism, or Eco-Naturism for short, is a type of naturism that seeks to focus on the environmental element of the classic definition of  naturism "living in harmony with nature". The naturist way of life is viewed through an ecological lens. Eco naturists argue for the ecological benefits of practicing naturism. [ref]8 ecological positive effects of naturism[/ref] Naturist philosopher, writer, and film maker Marc Alain Descamps believed that naturism was a precursor to environmentalism. There is no valid ecology unless it takes naturism into consideration. It should not be considered as a simple place of escape, an island outside of human society. The naturist project is universalist. We are finally beginning to consider the earth as a living organism that defends itself and maintains invariants (constants of CO2, methane, temperature, albedo, etc.) Marc Alain Descamps [ref]NATURISM AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT[/ref]
Eco naturists believe  if more people adopted a clothes-free lifestyle, such waste could be reduced, thus, lessening the human impact on the planet, not to mention that going nude makes people more closely connected to nature.

History

The earliest expression of modern naturism was deeply connected to the idea of getting back to nature as a relief ofrom the urbanization of European cities. Participants in the Lebensform or life reform movement throughout Europe adopted ecologically friendly practices in addition to social nudity. In the 1920's Anarcho-naturists in Spain, France and Britain were also pioneering practitioners of  eco-naturism.
